Wisconsin Ethical Hunter Award

I received a news release today that announced another ethics award. This story is simply too good to pass up!

“Rhinelander man receives 2008 Ethical Hunter Award”:http://dnr.wi.gov/news/DNRNews_Lookup.asp?id=159#art1 is the title and it starts like this:

_Somewhere in northwest Wisconsin there is a boyfriend, probably an ex-boyfriend, who had to eat crow for his tavern lunch._

_He is but a minor player in this tale, however. The starring role goes to Nick Owens of Rhinelander, an 18-year-old graduate of Rhinelander High School and the recipient of the statewide Hunter Ethics Award for 2008. The award is co sponsored by the La Crosse Tribune and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources._

_Owens’ story begins on a Tuesday, the fourth day of Wisconsin’s 2008 gun deer hunt. Owens, who has been hunting effectively with bow and gun since he was 12, was driving around Burnett County, scouting public land, when he came upon a young woman dressed in hunter orange. She was standing outside her pickup truck, sobbing._

While I would love to continue… hehehe… I’m instead going to let you follow the link to the news release. Finish the story, it is worth the time!

Congratulations, Nick! You make us proud!
